As soon as we have your default LibraCyber ESG installation ready, it’s a good idea to perform some basic additional configuration tasks.
Check DNS settings
First of all, login to your appliance as admin and reach the Networking page. Here you can check the Primary DNS server and the Alternate DNS server settings.
Check the general settings
Choosing an affordable NTP (Network Time Protocol) server is essential to keep the appliance time always correct.
From the System Preferences page you can edit the NTP server address, typing the address of your favorite server. From this page you can also manage the SSH service status.
It's a very bad practice keeping the SSH enabled if you don't need it so.
We strongly suggest you to keep it disabled and enable it when you need it.
Configure appliance domains
From the Relay Configuration page you can add or remove domains. If you want ESG to manage more domains, you can configure them.
You can also perform test on domains configurations by clicking on the Test button on the domain record you want to test.
Configure the recipient verification
It’s a widely suggested best practice to reject mail addressed to nonexistent recipients at the gateway level. This will aid the spam block rate and keep your license usage count accurate.
To enable the recipient verification, please follow this how to: Recipient Verification.
Configure outbound flow
In case you want to use LibraCyber ESG also for delivery of outgoing email, you have to authorize your internal mail server for the relay.
To do this please add your mail server address to the Trusted Networks tab in the Relay Configuration page.
