With LibraCyber Email Archiver advanced search you can build flexible and complex searches by combining multiple filters.

How advanced searches work

An advanced search is built through groups and filters.

A filter is a single condition. You can add conditions on subject, from, to or cc, filter, body and attachment filename. For each filter type you have different condition options. 

For example, for the subject condition you can configure equal to, not equal to, contains word or doesn’t contain word.

A group is composed by one or more filters. You can configure a group to match all the filters or at least one:

• if you select MATCH ALL, all the filters must be verified in order to the group to be verified
• if you select MATCH at least ONE, at least one of the filters must be verified in order to the group to be verified

If you configure multiple groups you can choose if configure a MATCH ALL or a MATCH at least ONE condition between groups.

Additionally, like in simple searches the date range and has attachment options are available.

Example

This is an example of advanced search configuration.

This is how this search works:

• the first group is composed by two filters
  • the first filter requires the subject to contain the word “test”
  • the second filter requires the email to have an attachment whose name contains the word “document”
• the first group has a MATCH ALL configuration, so both of the previous filters must be verified
• the second group is composed by only one filter
  • the filter requires the To or CC to contain the address test@libracyber.com
• the second group has only one filter, so in this case MATCH ALL and MATCH at least ONE are equivalent
• the two groups are configured with a MATCH at least ONE condition, so the search will find the emails matching both groups or only one of them
• both Date from and Date to are set, so only emails within this dates will be found
• the Has attachment option is flagged, so only emails with at least one attachment will be found
