This guide explains how to configure Cyber Awareness for your company and bring employees to training: set notification and player preferences, assign at least one Learning Path, and schedule course releases. The starting point is Video Training › Setup in the left menu. The procedure takes just a few minutes and follows a linear path with no branches.
Prerequisites
- Cyber Awareness is active for your company (activation managed by LibraCyber, not self-service), with at least one content type included (Cyber Awareness and/or Cyber Series).
- Employees and their departments are already synced in the platform (setting at General Settings level, not covered in this guide).
- You have Video Training administrator permission, which grants access to the entire Video Training area, including Setup.
WARNING: enabling an email preference (onboarding, new lessons, or reminders) sends real emails to employees—these are not previews. The Send example onboarding email to myself button also sends a real email to your address. Scheduling releases starts course delivery, and each release notifies employees via email: a release already made and its announcement email cannot be canceled.
Detailed procedure
- Open Video Training › Setup. The Video Training Setup page displays three tabs: Release Calendar, Preferences, and Reminders activity.
- Open the Preferences tab and configure each setting according to your company policy. The four toggles are independent and save automatically when you change them (there is no separate Save button):
- Send Onboarding emails to new users: sends a welcome email when a new user is added to the platform. The Send example onboarding email to myself button lets you send yourself an example first.
- Send new lessons notification: when new content is released, the user receives an email inviting them to access the platform.
- Send reminders to inactive users: employees who do not interact with training for a certain number of business days receive a single reminder email; they receive another only if they become inactive again after returning.
- Allow video seeking and fast-forwarding: when enabled, users can move along the timeline and skip ahead. When disabled, they must watch the content in full without fast-forwarding.
- Assign a Learning Path to a recipient. In Video Training › Learning Paths, open a path's settings and set its Target to Whole Company or to one or more Specific Departments (for example, Finance). Complete steps are described in the dedicated Learning Paths guide.
- Configure the Release Calendar so courses are released on a recurring schedule rather than all at once. Open the Release Calendar tab and set up recurring release for the content type. Recurrence options and the first release mechanism are described in the dedicated Release Calendar guide.
NOTE: in the app, the Type column of Learning Paths labels the Cyber Awareness flow as Video Training; this is the same content.
Expected result
At this point, configuration is complete: the toggles you set remain in place after a page reload, and the sample email arrives in your inbox. After a scheduled release, assigned employees see courses in My Courses, and completion and activity data in the Dashboard begin to move in the following days. When employees exceed the inactivity period, the Reminders activity tab lists reminders sent (recipient, module, type, date, and status). An empty list simply means no reminder was due in the recent window shown.
NOTE: almost all settings are reversible: simply toggle back to the previous state or re-assign the path. The exception is releases already made and their related emails, which cannot be canceled.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | Solution | Escalation |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Video Training area or Setup page does not appear | Video Training is not active for your company, or you lack administrator permission | Ask LibraCyber to confirm activation; have yourself assigned Video Training permission in General Settings › Permissions | Contact support if activation is confirmed but the area does not appear |
| The Send example onboarding email to myself button is disabled | You are in a partner session (MSP): the button shows the message "Not available in MSP mode" | Log in directly to the customer company (not from the MSP overview) to send the example | — |
| Employees do not receive onboarding emails | The Send Onboarding emails to new users toggle is disabled, or new employees are not yet synced | Enable the toggle and verify that employees and departments are synced | Contact support |
| Employees do not see courses in My Courses | No Learning Path is assigned, or nothing has been released yet in the Release Calendar | Assign a path and schedule or confirm a release | Contact support |
| The Reminders activity tab is empty | No reminder was due in the recent window, or the Send reminders to inactive users toggle is disabled | Verify that the reminders toggle is enabled; remember that the list covers only a recent period | — |
