The Release Calendar is the first tab in Video Training › Setup: from here the administrator sets when company courses become available to employees over time, with separate scheduling for each content type (Cyber Awareness and Cyber Series). This guide explains how to start, repeat, advance, pause, and resume releases.
Prerequisites
- Administrator permission for Video Training.
- The content type you want to schedule (Cyber Awareness and/or Cyber Series) is included in your company plan.
- At least one Learning Path created and assigned for that content type: the Release Calendar releases courses contained in already-assigned paths, but does not select or assign content on its own.
- Employees and their departments are already synced in the platform.
Detailed procedure
- Open Video Training › Setup: the Release Calendar tab is selected first.
- In the section for each content type (Cyber Awareness and Cyber Series), set the Frequency—how often the release repeats—by choosing it from the recurrence selector.
- Set the First release date. It must be a business day: weekends are not selectable. This date is shared by both content types.
- Click Schedule first release for a content type to start its scheduling. The status becomes Active and the Next release date appears.
- When a content type is active, manage it with the dedicated commands:
- Release now: publishes the next course immediately, outside the recurring schedule.
- Pause / Resume: suspends the schedule and then restarts it, recalculating the next release date.
- Follow the Recent Activities panel (on the right) to see what has already been released: date, course, content type, and number of employees reached.
NOTE: the First release date becomes read-only once you create the schedule for a content type. From that point on, the cadence is adjusted with the Frequency selector, while Release now is used for a single immediate release.
Expected result
At this point the content type is Active and shows the Next release date. On the scheduled day, the platform delivers the next course from each target employee's assigned path, records the release, and lists it in Recent Activities; completion is then reflected in the Dashboard. Release now produces the same effect immediately for the next course. Recurring dates always fall on a business day: a date that would fall on a weekend is moved to the next business day.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | Solution | Escalation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recent Activities is empty and locked | No schedule has been created for either content type yet | Schedule a first release for at least one content type | — |
| A content type remains Not started and never releases | The first release was not scheduled, or no Learning Path exists for that content | Schedule the first release and verify that a path of that type exists, created and assigned | Contact support |
| Cannot modify the First release date | The date locks once the schedule is created | Modify the Frequency instead, or contact support to reset the schedule | Contact support |
| Schedule commands are disabled | The company is in demo/trial mode, where editing is disabled | Make the change on a company with Video Training active | Contact support |
