A Learning Path groups a series of Video Training courses in order and delivers them to recipients chosen by the administrator: the entire company, specific departments, or none for now. This guide explains how to assign a path and, if needed, create a new one from a ready-made template. The starting point is Video Training › Learning Paths in the left menu.
Prerequisites
- Administrator permission for Video Training. To modify a path (assign or configure it), you need write permission; with view-only access you can browse the list and details, but cannot save changes.
- The Type of the path you want to use (Cyber Awareness or Cyber Series) must be included in your company's plan.
- Employees and their departments are already present in the company directory: you can assign to a department only if it already exists.
Detailed Procedure
- Open Video Training › Learning Paths. Each row shows the Path Name (with the number of courses), the Type chip (Cyber Awareness or Cyber Series), the current Target, and the Actions column.
- (Optional) To see the content of a path, click the View icon (the eye): the details open showing the number of Modules, total Duration, and the ordered list of courses.
- Click the Target of the row to open the Path Settings window ("Who should take this path?").
- In the Assignments tab, choose the recipients:
- Whole Company: all employees, current and future.
- Specific Departments: select one or more departments from the multi-select list.
- No Assignment: leave the path ready but not delivered.
- (Optional) In the Configuration tab, enable Mandatory Order to require courses to be taken in the specified order and/or set a Prerequisite Path (a path to complete before this one).
- Click Save Changes. The Target of the row updates with the new assignment.
NOTE: to create a completely new path, you don't need to build it from scratch. Ready-made path templates provided with the product appear in the same Learning Paths list: open the Target of one of them, choose the recipients, and save. Saving generates a real path for your company, already assigned.
Expected Result
At this point the path is assigned: the Target of the row reflects the new recipients. The courses will reach employees according to the Release Calendar schedule and will appear in their My Courses page over time, not necessarily immediately. A path left on No Assignment remains ready but is not delivered until you set a recipient.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Probable Cause | Solution | Escalation |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Target / Save commands do not respond or are unavailable | You have view-only access, not modify (write) permission | Contact an administrator with modify permission, or request permission elevation | Contact support if you believe you already have the permission |
| Saving a prerequisite is rejected | The chosen prerequisite would create a cycle (path A requires B which requires A) | Choose a different prerequisite, or remove the conflicting one first | Contact support if no valid choice resolves it |
| A department is missing from the selection list | The department does not yet exist in the company directory | Verify that the department has been created/synced, then reopen Path Settings | Contact support if it exists but never appears |
| Assigned employees do not yet see the path's courses | The Release Calendar has not yet released them | Check the Release Calendar schedule for that content type | Contact support if the schedule appears correct |
