Periodically changing passwords is always a good practice. We suggest you to periodically change the admin password of the appliance using strong password managed by a password manager.
Default credentials
The default credentials in ESG for both the web interface and the CLI are admin/password.
Web interface
Login to your appliance using the admin credentials and move to the User Management page. Locate the admin user and click on the grey pencil, grey button beside the user as shown below.
A dialog appears. In the first section of the dialog you can type the new password and confirm it as shown below. Scroll down the dialog and click on the Save button.
Note: leave both field empty to keep the previous password.
It will be necessary to login again with new credentials.
Lost credentials or OTP
In case you lost the web admin password or its TFA secret, you can easily reset the web interface admin password and OTP. Open the ESG console from your hypervisor or log into the appliance via SSH and select the option 10: Reset Web admin password & OTP.
Console Credentials
Open the ESG console from your hypervisor or log into the appliance via SSH and select the option 9: Change Console admin password.
