NOTE: The below steps can only be performed by a user with admin account permission, end-users cannot perform the below steps.
What is mailbox delegation:
A mailbox delegation is when a user is permitted to manage other users' mailboxes. This permission is not given by default, the permission has to be given by your admin.
LibraCyber Archiver provides an easy way to delegate the mailbox impersonation between Microsoft 365 users, it is also possible to allow impersonation of users from other directory services (ex: Local users, LDAP users, G-suite users).
The first step is to make sure that the appropriate API permissions are given
Application permission
- Navigate to https://portal.azure.com/ and log in using your administrator credentials
- Open the App registrations portal and select the App configured previously
- Select API permissions and select the following permissions
- Click Done
- Click Grant permissions and click Yes in the dialog
Once the API permissions are given and permission granted, go to you archiver appliance and login
Activate mailbox delegation
- Navigate to your LibraCyber Archiver and select Settings > Authentication > Microsoft 365 Configuration
- Click on the settings icon before the mailbox delegation button as shown:
- Activate mailbox delegation, by clicking Activate button
- Mailbox delegation is enabled
Mailbox delegation
A user can be delegated to manage other user’s mailboxes by following these steps:
- On the Directory Service, select users list icon (grey button)
- Select the user you want to enable to impersonate other mailboxes by clicking the shown button
- Enter the mailbox/mailboxes you wan to allow impersonation of
- Click Save
- Now the mailbox can impersonate configured mailboxes.
