Privacy Passwords for domain
Allows you to make specific domain's email data private. Although it won't prevent someone from modifying the settings of the domains or viewing the message header details and analysis, it will prevent users without the domain's privacy password from being able to view email body content within the domain. if enabled, it allows Domain Admin to set their password for the domain.
Follow the below steps to enable the Privacy Passwords for domain admins
- Go to Appliance in your ESG admin area
- Click on System Preferences
- Scroll down to the Privacy Passwords Settings section
- Type in your password for the Privacy Passwords for domain admins and enable it
Once Privacy Passwords for domain admins is enabled, now you will create a Domain Admin for your domain.
To create a domain admin, follow the below steps:
- In ESG admin area click Authentication
- Click on User Management and click + New
- Enter a username. The Username for a domain admin must be the same as the domain name, if your domain name is example.com, the username should be example.com
- Enter Full Name
- Enter the password and confirm the password
- In Type, select Domain Admin
- Now click Save at the bottom to save the user you just created
Now, assign to the domain admin the domain to be managed:

- Log out of the account
- Open a browser in Incognito
- Log in with the domain admin you just created
- Once logged in, click on Admin Area at the top
- Click Authentication on the left sidebar
- Click Domain Privacy Passwords
In the Domain Privacy Passwords tab, click + New to create a privacy password for your domain admin
After you create the privacy password, your server admins will be required to enter the privacy password to view the email body of emails of that domain.
Note: Admins of the appliance will still be able to see the message header details and our analysis of the emails, for troubleshooting purposes.
