The Download Area is the section of the platform where files automatically generated by the system are collected. These typically include:
- ZIP packages of level certificates, requested through the bulk certificate download action;
- reports in CSV/XLSX format produced by the reporting engine (if the number of users is particularly high, the download occurs in asynchronous mode)
Generation is not instantaneous; you can return to the Download Area at any time to check the progress status and download the file when it is ready.
Who can access
The Download Area is available to administrative roles: MSP, Company Admin, Supervisor and internal LibraCyber roles. Each user sees only files from their own company; roles with cross-visibility (e.g. MSP) can select the company from the selector at the top of the page.
What the table contains
Each row represents a single download request. The columns are:
- File: name of the generated file
- Status: processing status: In Progress, Ready, Expired, Error.
- File Type: type: Certificate or Report.
- Created: date of the request.
- Expiry: date after which the file will no longer be downloadable. The text turns red when the expiration date has long passed.
- Deleted: Yes / No: indicates whether the request has been deleted by the user.
- Actions: buttons to download and delete the file. They are visible only if the row has not been deleted; the download button appears only when the status is "Ready".
At the top of the page, an informational banner about file duration and a banner with a summary of the total size occupied by files from the currently selected company are also displayed.
File lifecycle
The request is created → the row appears in the table with status In Progress.
If generation succeeds, the status changes to Ready and the file becomes downloadable.
If generation fails, the status changes to Error.
After 2 weeks from the creation date, the file is marked as Expired and is no longer downloadable.
At any time before expiration, you can manually delete the file from the "Actions" column.
Duration and availability
- File validity: 2 weeks from creation.
- After expiration, the file can no longer be downloaded, but the row remains visible as a historical record with Expired status.
- There is no maximum limit to the number of files that can be generated per company, nor a dedicated storage quota. Space is freed only when you manually delete files.
Why it's worth deleting files manually
Even though files expire on their own, the occupied space is not automatically freed at expiration. Deleting files you no longer need has three practical effects:
- frees up disk space in the company folder (especially useful for companies that generate many bulk certificates);
- reduces the Total file size shown in the banner at the top of the page;
- removes in advance exports that may contain sensitive data and are no longer needed.
Why are deleted files still visible?
This is intended system behavior, not a browser issue or a missed page refresh.
When you click "Delete", the content disappears, but the row remains visible indefinitely (to preserve the history of requests made) and you can recognize it because:
- the Deleted column shows Yes;
- the Status column appears empty;
- the download and delete buttons are not present.
Confirmation that space has been actually freed is visible in the Total file size banner, which decreases accordingly after deletion.
